Where does my Navman work?

Anywhere – as long as the Navman receiver has a clear view of the sky and the antenna is held vertically.

Some car manufacturers use athermic heat reflecting windshields which also reflect the GPS signal, blocking it from entering the car. You’ll need to use a Mini-MCX external aerial if your car has an athermic windshield to re-transmit the GPS signal inside your car.

Is an external aerial required for in-car use?

Usually no – unless you have a car with an athermic heat reflecting windshield which will prevent the GPS signal from entering your car. In that case, you will need a Mini-MCX external aerial.

How do I know if my windshield is athermic?

Take the GPS receiver out of your car, go to the GPS status menu to check the GPS signal strength. When the signal is strong enough (3-5 green satellites), put the GPS receiver inside the car and close the windows. If the signal strength drops (No green satellites, only a couple of yellow ones), then your windshield is athermic and you’ll need to buy a Mini-MCX external aerial.

Where can I buy the latest map updates for my Navman?

Visit navmans online store at www.navman-store.com for the latest maps from there map provider, TeleAtlas. They send you any maps you order on CD-ROM which also includes the latest Navman SmartST software.

They sell two types of maps:

	Single-region maps for street-level access to any one region
	Pan-European maps for street-level access for Western Europe

Where can I buy the latest software for my Navman GPS?

You guessed it - the online store at www.navman-store.com has the latest software for your Navman. It’s only available, though, to buy with updated maps for your region or in a full Pan European map update set.

Where can I buy map unlock keys to access additional map regions for my Navman?

It’s available at the online store again at www.navman-store.com – as long as your Navman uses Smart ST V3 software, you can buy map unlock keys.

There are two types of map unlock available:

	Silver single region unlock key to access one additional region of your choice from your existing CD pack
	Pan European unlock key for access to all other map regions in Western Europe from your existing CD pack

Where can I buy accessories for my Navman GPS?

If it’s available for your Navman, you’ll find it in the online store at www.navman-store.com. Or Dick Smiths stores have a range of accessories, There may be able to order them in for you.

Just wondering if the POI Loader software and appropriate POI is compatible
with the GPSMAP96c loaded with city navigator software?

No, sorry that it's not compatible with POI software.

My Navman has frozen so I'm not sure what to do?

Try turning the main battery switch off then on for a system restart. Or press the reset switch on side of most units.

Does this work with Navman smartST2 software?

NO, You need to go to www.navman.com.au and fill out the form for latest smartST 2005 V3.5 upgrade. Or give them a ring on 02 9879 9000 with all your serial and product numbers. Its $179 with the latest Australian Maps. Once you have the latest SmartST V3.5 software it will work fine. It will not work with smartST V1.3 or V2 as you can not put in your own POIs. Or you can order it in from a Dick Smiths store.

Does it work with the Navman icn320?

NO ,Sorry the Navman icn 320 does not support POI editing and doesn't include SmartST software CD for the PC. So it will not work with my data. Until Navman make a update/patch for this to happen.

My navman icn520 has stopped responding with my pc .... there is no connection?

Don't panic this happens some times its a fault of Windows not the icn unit.
Just reset the computer with the icn520 plugged in and turned on . this will
normally work so then you can start smartST again.

Hi, do you sell Australian maps for a tom tom 300. I have bought a unit in the UK but as I am in oz its not much use to me without the Australian maps ?

No ,Sorry I don't sell any maps just the fixed red light and speed camera data try www.tomtom.com for a local supplier.

Just wondering if you know when the M7 upgrade for Garmin, Navman or Tom Tom is available ?

As far as I have heard it should be released in or around September 06.

Does it work on a Street Pilot 2610 ?

No, sorry that it's not compatible with POI software.

Does the fixed camera software fit on the 256mb sd card?
Yes very easily I have it on my 128mb sd card.

How do you know the Lat/long of each site?

I look them up on digital maps from the street address. I get the address from RTA , Police and other web sites.

Is this information for mobile and fixed cameras ?

No just fixed red light and speed cameras in Australia.

Does this show you moving police cars as I have been told you can get this for gps's and is this true ?

No just fixed red light and speed cameras in Australia. I have not heard of this before.

Just want to know if you are going to also include School Zones in the near future?

I'm thinking about it but not sure yet.

Do you send out up dates normally by email or has to be downloaded from your website?

I send full up dates out by email every few months.

With this product will I still be able to put in my destination and plan my route or is it solely for the cameras? I am not 100% familiar with how it works ?

This data once installed correctly passively operates in Map or Destination mode so it's always ON ready to warn you. Your unit will work 100% fine with the data installed.

I will be upgrading to the new map version with M7 when they are released, Do I have to install your data again?

Yes, any time you up date your maps, just follow the instructions and screen shot on my site.
